Tonight, the Green Bay Packers will be in New Orleans to play the Saints , attempting to vault themselves back into a three-way tie for what could very well be the only NFL playoff spot available in the tight NFC North division. With a win, the Pack will get to 6-5 and this game has been made all the more important by wins yesterday by division rivals Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings, both of whom also had to win on the road this week.
Conversely, a loss for the Saints could drop them out of the NFL playoff picture as it would leave them three games behind the 8-3 Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Carolina Panthers. With only five games to play after this one, a three-game divide will be all but impossible to make up before January. Any chance of doing so, even with a win tonight, would likely hinge upon the Saints beating all three of their division rivals in the one game they will play against each before the end of this regular season.

The Saints hope home cooking will stave off the 2008 season Cooked Goose Early Thanksgiving Dinner that the Packers hope to serve them and their fans tonight.
Any decision to pick the Saints to win tonight against the Packers was not made any easier by the announcement yesterday morning that Reggie Bush will be sidelined with a torn meniscus in his left knee . Deuce McAllister and Pierre Thomas will both have to have big games and keep drives going to give Drew Brees a chance against the Packers’ very good pass defense.
Green Bay has allowed just 11 passing touchdowns this year and only the Baltimore Ravens have more than Green Bay’s 16 interceptions. The Pack have also allowed the fewest passing yards to opponents than any other NFL team, at 1,763.
This Packers at Saints Monday Night Football prediction at FanYard is for the Packers to win by a field goal, three points. Of course, some late picks could change the Yardstick for the game before kickoff, as it is the only fan-generated point spread and fans can change their picks any time before the game starts, but I don’t foresee any big news that would make many FanYard community members change their prediction on the outcome.
Add your MNF pick to the Yardstick and help us put the power of predictions back into the hands of the fans and out of the grip of the sportsbooks, whose numbers are merely trying to balance action, not give an accurate prediction on the outcome of games. The fan spread is surely more acceptable than the betting spread. In the first 15 games of Week 12 NFL, the Yardstick is 13-2 at picking winners.
