My favorite place to get fantasy football insight from real people and not those talking head hype machines at the major sites is Football Jabber. I have been lucky enough to develop a working relationship with Lee, who runs Football Jabber and who has been working hard to add a ton of great, new features to his site over the past year. Go to Football Jabber for your fantasy football…everything!
Lee is one of the best football people online for helping to promote sites, and not just his own. He has been a member of FanYard since last season. I recently asked a few questions of Lee about Football Jabber, and this is what he had to say:
1) Your site has seen a major overhaul in the past year and looks great, Lee. What have been your favorite additions?
Thanks Blake. It has went through a major overhaul in the last year. An addition I’m pretty excited about has not even really been pushed out to the masses yet. I have not posted on it so I guess you can say your getting a little exclusive. Football Jabber has added a Social Network. Think MySpace for football fans. Create profiles where you can add your favorite links and RSS feeds. Upload pictures, Video, and Audio. You have a blog that you can rant and rave on the latest happenings or your favorite team. Groups, chat, all that stuff. We are working on getting the hot girls to send you messages offering free ringtones but have not been able to woo them from MySpace yet
.
I’m also looking at it as a network for other sites. I don’t pretend Football Jabber is the only site on the internet and promote other sites all the time. Football sites can set up a profile and use the blog to promote what they have going on, linking back to their sites. You can check out the community at http://community.footballjabber.com or see a little preview of the latest at http://footballjabber.com/locker-room-community/
2) What have JabberHeads responded to the most?
NFL Draft time was big with the Mock drafts and player profiles. Right now it’s all about getting ready for the fantasy football season. The Rankings have been getting a lot of love. During the season I’m going to be doing something a little different. Since we deal a lot with Dynasty leagues I’m going to be doing Dynasty Scout, giving people I guess what you could call viewing guides for the NCAA games on players to watch that you may be drafting in your Dynasty or Keeper leagues in 2009.
3) If you could get the top three picks in a draft, who would you take this season for your starting QB, RB and WR?
If I could have any of them? You have to say Tom Brady at QB. If it was not for the bum knee Peyton Manning may be in there. Until we know he is a go I have even dropped him out of the Top 3 QB’s for re-draft leagues right now. That may change this week. For this season I’m still with LT at RB. At WR I would have to say Randy Moss.
***Well, Lee, it looks like we’d have the same dream starting lineup! Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions and FanYard will definitely be looking into your community soon…In fact, I just joined! It is fast and easy to do and looks cool. I’ll add more to my home later on. Looks great, Lee! Hopefully, we can find a spot for the Yardstick somewhere this season on Football Jabber. That’s my fantasy:-)
